Check Baby Check Baby One Two Three Four
I'm not the only one who dances around the house with my cats. Although in our house it's not to Jay-Z and Beyonce, but usually to JT, the Pussycat Dolls, or the Classics. C'mon... you know you want to shout out "Just Shake Your Rump!"
Our poor pets and the things they have to put up with. Granted they don't have to work, but they do have to put up with injustices such as this (taken from DocleDosa).
I bought this cat bed (featured on Crazy Aunt Pearl), but the cats seem to be weary about sleeping in another cat's mouth. Even though an informal poll shows that 5 out of 5 Lockheed Martin Employees think it's a fish. However, Max does seem to think that it's his friend. He'll sit there and talk to the bed and bring toys to it, but everytime I try to shove him in the bed he freaks.
My mother and I had a strange conversation this weekend about the things that I used to eat when I lived at her house, but have never actually boughten for my own house. It all started out with...
Mom: There's some Captain Crunch in the pantry for you.
Me: Captain Crunch?
Mom: Yeah, your favorite cereal.
Me: Wazzah? I've never boughten Captain Crunch in my entire life.
Mom: WHAT! That's all you used to eat when you lived here.
Huh... I do believe she is correct. Then I started listing all the other things I've never boughten to eat. This list includes:
celery
brussel sprouts (which is weird because I LIKE brussel sprouts)
artichokes
mango
a head of lettuce
tacos (and I LOVE tacos. I just feel weird purchasing all those ingredients for me)
bagels
kool-aid
ice cream in a carton (I only buy those little tubs)
lunchmeat
shells and cheese
cookies (with the exception of girl scout)
ranch dressing
Looking at that list it just seems weird. I've never really boughten cookies. No oreos, no kebbler cookies, no chips ahoy. And why no bagels? I LIKE bagels. I guess I've just fallen into my boring eating routine. It's either Kashi, fruit, yogurt, or oatmeal for breakfast. Lunch is always soup, salad, or pb&j. Dinner is always fish and a vegetable. Snacks are always cupcakes, little debbie, ice cream sandwiches, or pudding. FOR ALMOST 7 YEARS! Even when I lived with the Ex the eating habits had little change. There was more meat involved in the dinner, but whatever. Should I venture out into other foods? It seems slightly unfathomable to start eating bagels at my house for some reason. And what would I eat for lunch? I always have a problem with lunch.
So, help me out. Are you stuck in a food rut? What are some of your favorite dishes?

I just got back from the grocery store and I got stuff to make a fruit salad, some goodies for the husband, and feta cheese for a greek salad.
I'm not supposed to be eating wheat and I'm still in the process of accepting that.
I should also get off my ass and exercise.
But you should try making fish tacos for dinner one night. Just get some soft corn tortillas throw in some lettuce and some lemon juice and maybe some tomatoes and you're good to go.
Is it just me or are younger people starting to eat more healthily? Looking at your list of stuff you used to eat when you lived at home, I used to eat the same stuff, but I don't buy it anymore either.

I think everyone gets stuck in a food rut when you get older...I have oatmeal just about ever morning for breakfast. Lunch I switch up sometimes. Lately I have been eating granola cereal for lunch, sometimes I make a turey sandwich, and rarely I bring left overs....sence you are at home alot I think shells and cheese would be a great lunch and that is what I make for me and the girls on the weekends sometimes...I'll throw in some broccli or add a sandwich and veggie to theirs to make it healthy. Dinner is different though...we do have spaghetti about once a week because I love it and it is cheap, and easy, I try to not repeat anything else for a week or so. I remember how hard it is to cook for just yourself though. When Hubby was in the military there were months when I just had to feed myself so when I really wanted a homecooked meal I would have friends over to help me eat it all. Even if it was somthing as easy as turkey burgers and fries (which is easy for 1 because you can freeze individual protions of the meat and buns and buy only 1 potato) it's great to have the company. In fact if you ever want to come over for dinner your welcome to do so.

I love tacos too and I also live alone. I tend to invite friends over for TACO NIGHT when I'm in the mood to make them. Then you're not buying so many ingredients just for you. Also, cooked taco meat freezes quite well, so you can always do that with leftovers.

Pasta. Pasta pasta pasta. Any shape, any sauce.
But I have been known to tuck into a big jar of pickled pigs feet with great delight. Got that one from my dad--thanks, Dad.

Hi!
Just a quick note to say thanks for the Swap Softly goodies! They arrived last week. It's snowing AGAIN here today, so thinking about the beach is a welcome change!

That cat bed is HYSTERICAL!! LOVE IT!
I think we all get stuck in food ruts from time to time. DH & I are working on eating more healthy, but I'm seriously considering finding a healthy cooking class since I'm not very creative on my own.

It's downright painful! Please don't ever, ever say "boughten" again. The word is "bought".
